Keep Pressing

Keep Pressing

What? You thought it was going to get easier with each step along the path? As you approach the Enemy’s Camp did you think they’d just welcome you with open arms and let you through? You didn’t think about the fact that they hold all the keys and guard all the doors. If you want out – if you want to be free – then you’ve got to go to the core of that Camp to where the door to your freedom and the door to your bondage lie shut.

What? You thought this was going to be easy? Well it’s not. But keep pressing! What the Enemy doesn’t want you to realize is that the closer you get to your freedom the more afraid they become – so they will do whatever they can to keep you held at bay. Whatever keeps you complacent – you better believe will pop up to distract you – to cause you to waste all of your resources and your very life.

And if that doesn’t work – if you’re focused on the goal and determined to keep pressing then you’d better know that the closer you get to the truth – concerning your freedom – the closer you get to breaking through every barrier that stands in your way – the more ferocious the battle will become.

What? You thought this would be easy? It’s not. But keep pressing! Even as the fear and confusion begins to set in and you find it hard to breathe – hard to break those bad habits that hold you down – even if you fail time and time again and keep falling into that sin – even if you find your vision getting blurry as the goal is surrounded by haze… know this… You are standing at the very threshold… at the foot of the door ready to walk through to your freedom – and it’s here that every weapon that can be used against you will be used against you. Every slanderous word from those you thought were with you and from those you knew were not. Every attempt at isolation and every attempt at distraction that can be conjured up will be done. Every intimidation that can be brought will be forcefully presented. But keep pressing!

The battle is greatest at the heart of the stronghold that binds you and the greatest freedom comes when that stronghold is broken. Do not accept any substitutes and do not give in to any compromises. What? You thought this would be easy? Well it’s not! But you keep pressing!

This is not the time for retreat – as ferocious as the Enemy can be – only you decide whether you turn back and run. If God has called you to Freedom – and He has, and you’re so close that you can taste it, smell it, see it in the distance and hear it’s voice… then for you to not be free – for you to turn back when the wiles of the Enemy seem unbearable – means that you may have never really… truly… desperately… wanted Freedom for your total existence. True life is waiting.
